Postion: Deputy General Manager

Location: Shanghai, China

Report to: The GM and CEO of the Swiss Centers China who are based in Switzerland

1. Overview

The Deputy General Manager China will cover the management of the Swiss Center Shanghai (SCS) and Swiss Center Tianjin (SCT). The position is based in Shanghai and reports to the GM and CEO of the Swiss Centers China who is based in Switzerland.

The key responsibilities are to manage SCS and SCT business development, to ensure the quality of SCS and SCT services, to develop and acquire customers and to maintain the good relations with the SCS and SCT members, partners, and governmental bodies.


2. Tasks & Responsibilities for both SCT and SCS

  • Supervise the monthly financial statements in collaboration with the CEO.
  • Frequent business trips to Beijing and to Tianjin;
  • Manage and oversee marketing and promotion tasks including delegations and events;
  • Propose and develop the new services for SCC members and partners;
  • Provide support and services to the SCC members;ready to act on demand and strive for solutions to satisfy the appearing needs;
  • Generate regular events and interactions with SCT members, and get feedbacks on their opinions and suggestions;
  • Coordinates efforts by establishing procurement, marketing field, and services policies and practices; coordinating actions with the team;
  • Responsible for subsidiary objectives by establishing plans, achieving budgets, and bottom-line;
  • Implement the strategic plan for SCC development in China;
  • Lead the local team and coordinate projects to ensure a pleasant and efficient working environment;
  • Manage and promote the SCC premises and services to potential and existing customers; Develop and maintain a good network of active agents/partners to increase our visibility and acquire new customers;Represent SCC and active interact with Swiss organizations in China, including the Embassy, Consul General, SwissCham, Swiss Business Hub, etc; Develop and maintain good relations with the Swiss and Chinese organizations/governments
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and supervising implementation of organization standards;
  • Be the owner of the high quality, Swiss image of SCC and ensure it is maintained and developed;

3.3 Requirements

  • Certificate/Diploma in Business Administration or University degree in Economics or Engineering
  • Experience studying and/or working in China
  • Experience in sales/marketing/promotion, event organization, or administration and project management
  • Swiss national
