SCC Newsletter June 2019
Dear Swiss Centers Members,
Partners and Friends,
In this
newsletter, we are pleased to announce the newly joined member
companies, Steinemann, Tschudin and PB Swiss Tools. We also warmly
thank Mikron Tool and Widler & Schiemann for their
renewal of the membership. The Swiss Centers development has been
possible only thanks to the trust and continuous support of the member
companies.
In return, we
continue to bring more benefits and value-added services to our growing
cluster. For example, our facility at Shanghai Waigaoqiao
gathers some 20 companies, who are benefiting from the Free Trade Zone
policies and our trade
specialist’s support in handling the custom declaration, logistics,
and application of Sino-Swiss FTA.
This year we
also engage ourselves to organize a Swiss
Centers Cluster Booth in the 2nd CIIE, in the Food and Quality Life
area, to help increase the visibility and raise the awareness of the
Swiss brands and products towards the Chinese consumers. More than a
dozen of Swiss companies already confirmed their participation, and for
those who are interested to join, please kindly contact us as soon as
possible to catch the last remaining spots.
Last but not
least, we would like to introduce you Mr.
Kuno Gschwend, as our new Deputy General Manager in China. He takes
over the position from Ms. Emmanuelle Roduit, who decides to return to
Switzerland after years in China. We thank Emma for her great work and
contribution and wish her all the best in the future. Kuno Gschwend,
together with the Swiss Centers team, will continue to serve our
members and support the Swiss businesses development in China!

Steinemann AG was founded by Georg
Steinemann in Flawil
(CH) in 1906 as a blacksmith's shop for hooves and wagons. Developing
into an industrial open die and hammer forge for producing tools was a
very important step for the company. Other production branches were
added over the years through the creation of construction workshops.
Today Steinemann AG's activities are concentrated on the
wholesale trade and the manufacturing of quality tools, devices and
signals. This makes the company, which is still family-owned, one of
the leading Swiss wholesalers of
tools for the building and construction trades as well as garden
maintenance.

The Swiss presence at the
2018 China International Import Expo was impressive with 44
companies taking up 3669 sqm as the 4th
largest country of the European continent in exhibition space, and
Swiss companies contracted deals valued at USD 3.59 billion.
This reflects the strong engagement the Swiss industry has with China.
This year Swiss Centers
China and Swiss-Chinese Chamber of
Commerce in Zurich continue to be
the official partner of CIIE for Swiss participation.
We are grouping the Swiss companies in two focus industries,
namely Food
& Agricultural Products and Quality
Life, to form Swiss Cluster Booth at 2nd
CIIE. It will be clearly identifiable by its
Swissness and offers Swiss exhibitors a
strong visibility.
Since the application was open, 11 Swiss companies have signed up for Food & Agricultural Products and 4 for Quality Life.
Available space is very limited. For more details on the Swiss
Cluster and how to apply, please contact us.
