Dear Swiss Centers Members, Partners and Friends,


Our last months of 2019 have been filled with exciting activities: Swiss Centers Booths at the 2nd CIIE (China International Import Expo), the delegation from Canton of Ticino, the meeting with the Swiss industries at Xinzhuang Industrial Park, the Sino-Swiss FTA Roundtable, and the on-going Mini-Swiss Pavilion where we set up with 11 brands and bring a little Swiss festival flavor to Lihpao Plaza at Shanghai Hongqiao CBD.


The end of the year is no-doubt a good time to celebrate, but also a good moment to reflect. I hope you all had a satisfactory year and good expectations for the coming year! Please kindly share your opinions and outlook on the Swiss Business Survey we conducted jointly with Swiss Embassy, Swissnex, Switzerland Global Enterprises, Swisscham, China Integrated and CEIBS.

New Members



Established in 1988, Air China is China's largest airline by brand value and is a market leader in air passenger transportation, air cargo and other aviation services.

It is China's sole flag carrier and a member of the world’s largest airline alliance, Star Alliance. It serves 174 cities in 40 countries and regions, including 64 international cities, 4 regional cities and 106 domestic cities.

ClaroSwiss Filtration Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. has renewed its Swiss Centers membership. It is the wholly owned daughter company of Aquis Wasser-Luft-Systeme GmbH, founded in 1995 as a specialist in the development and production of innovative solutions in the field of water filtration.

ClaroSwiss products enjoy the benefits of more than 20 years of extensive experience in the field of water filtration from Aquis. The original knowhow was based on extensive experience in water softening of the former parent company, a global supplier to the home appliance industry such as BSH, Miele, Electrolux, Whirlpool, V-Zug, and others.

Acrostak has renewed its Swiss Centers membership. It is a Swiss medical device company in the field of interventional cardiology.

Mini Swiss Pavilion

Shanghai, 15 December 2019 – 19 January 2020





In celebration of the upcoming Christmas and New Year 2020, Swiss Center Shanghai is organizing a Mini Swiss Pavilion that features 11 Swiss brands representing sectors in food and consumer goods at Lihpao Plaza, the eco-office complex which is 10 minutes’ walk away from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station.

The 11 brands are showcasing for sales an array of products the Swiss has to offer, such as wine and beer, chocolates, health supplements, skincare products, sports gear, among others. They are:

Join the 2020 Swiss Business in China Survey









We kindly invite you to participate in the 2020 China Business Survey, developed in collaboration with the Swiss EmbassySwitzerland Global EnterpriseSwissChamSwissnexChina Integrated and the China Europe International Business School, the No. 1 Business School in Asia for Executive education.

It is the international business survey collecting by far the largest number of replies in China and the only one that includes and compares with the opinion of managers of Chinese companies and allows an analysis of Chinese and foreign SMEs in China.   

Last year’s CEIBS survey received replies from close to 1000 companies, among which there were over 100 decision makers from Swiss enterprises.  The survey is believed to be representative of the approximately 600 Swiss companies that have established operations in China.

Once again, we aim to uncover key trends of foreign and local companies doing business in the increasingly competitive market of China. For respondents from Swiss companies, specific questions are included to gather insights into how the Swiss business community in particular is doing in the current business environment in China.

Swiss Centers Cluster @ China International Import Expo 2019

Shanghai, 5 - 10 December 2019





The Swiss Centers China (SCC) in partnership with the Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) has organized a joint Swiss Booth – Swiss Centers Cluster – at the 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) on 5-10 November 2019 in Shanghai. Aimed at offering an ideal platform of greater visibility and synergy to Swiss SMEs, the cluster booth brought together 16 Swiss companies from different industries to showcase their quality products.

Eleven of the companies fostered under one roof at Food Hall 8.2. The products ranged from chocolates, cookies, cheese, salt and pork to coffee, wine and beer. The other five exhibitors clustered into the booth at Quality Life Hall 6.1, demonstrating consumer goods such as skin care, cosmetics, sportswear and bedding.

At the first CIIE last year, the Swiss Centers China engaged with several Swiss businesses like Novartis and Schindler to support their participation in this grand international trade event.

This year, the SCC was able to present two diversified booths, taking up a total space of 320 sqm. Such enhanced presence is a demonstration of increasing demand from Swiss brands seeking to extend contact with the Chinese market.

During the fair the Swiss Centers Cluster received exposure on CCTV 13, the mainstream state-run news broadcaster in China. Thomas Froehlich, Global Marketing Director at Swiss Alpine Salt, was featured in the interview. “With the CIIE, we have a wonderful platform to introduce our products to the Chinese market. It’s a win-win for everyone,” he reports.

The Swiss Centers Cluster has also received strong support of other Swiss companies and organzations: Vitalp and Weleda AG as sponsors; Switzerland Global Enterprise Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai, and SwissCham Shanghai as partners.
